Refund policy

At Heirlooms & Whimsy, we specialize in antiques, vintage pieces, and one-of-a-kind finds. Most of the items we offer have lived a life before reaching us, and signs of age, wear, patina, variation, previous repairs, and other imperfections are often part of their history and character.

We make every reasonable effort to photograph and describe each item accurately, including notable condition issues we identify. We encourage you to review all photographs, descriptions, dimensions, and condition details carefully before purchasing.

All sales are considered final unless an item arrives damaged or is materially different from its description. We do not accept returns for buyer's remorse, change of mind, variations in color or appearance due to screens or lighting, minor age-related wear visible in the photographs, or characteristics reasonably expected of antique and vintage merchandise.

If your order arrives damaged, please contact us within 3 days of delivery. Keep the item and all original packaging, and provide photographs of the item, packaging, shipping box, and damage so we can evaluate the issue and, when applicable, file a claim with the shipping carrier.

If you believe an item was materially misrepresented in its listing, please contact us within 3 days of delivery with photographs and a description of the issue. We will review the situation and work with you toward an appropriate resolution.

Do not return an item without contacting us first. Unauthorized returns may not be accepted. If a return is approved, we will provide return instructions. Unless the return is due to our error or an item being materially misrepresented, original shipping charges and return shipping costs are generally non-refundable.

Because many of our pieces are unique and one of a kind, replacements are usually not available. When an approved claim or return requires a refund, the refund will be issued to the original payment method after the claim is resolved or the returned item is received and inspected, as applicable.

Antique & Vintage Condition

Unless specifically stated otherwise, our antique and vintage merchandise is sold in pre-owned, as-is condition. Age-related wear, patina, surface marks, fading, crazing, oxidation, minor chips, scratches, variations, previous repairs, and other signs of age may be present.

These characteristics do not automatically constitute damage or a defect when they are visible in the listing photographs, disclosed in the description, or reasonably consistent with the item's age and nature.

We do not guarantee the age, maker, provenance, attribution, composition, or historical origin of an item unless such information is expressly stated as verified in the product description.
